My goodness, where does the time go??
This weekend was pretty eventful and a great balance of time. We got to put in some family time, friend time, and couple time. Saturday was Dave's dad's birthday, so we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant in Vacaville (and yummy Fenton's afterwards!) Zayden was pretty good up until it was nap time so he started getting fussy. Afterwards we headed to my parents for the night (luckily we have stuff there for Zayden so we were able to keep up with his nightime routine of bathtime and storytime before bedtime). The next day Dave and I went out to watch a movie while lolo and lola watched Zayden. Funny hangin out and going to the movies in Vallejo--hahaha old stompin grounds! All in all, a good weekend. We even got to see Auntie Jessica and Auntie Annette who were in town and staying at Auntie Rhea's. It was nice to see the girls, especially since Jess and Annette haven't met Zayden yet, plus Zayden got to see his lil buddy Darius again.
Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Zayden and Darius
On Monday Dave and Zayden came out to have lunch with me, which was nice. After lunch we brought Zayden in to meet some of the folks here at work. He was such a good boy--nobody believed that he could be a fussy baby. If they only knew! He was a hit at the office though, everyone kept saying how cute he is. Thas right (I can be a proud mama)!
Poor Dave, when they got back home Mr. Crankypants decided to come out. When I came home they both looked so kuwawa (probably didn't spell that right). Zayden especially with the tears in his eyes, oh poor baby! But I've been there, frustrated cuz nothing will calm him, trying not to get mad but sometimes losing patience, and at the same time feeling helpless and bad that you can't do anything for him. It takes superhuman strength (ok, maybe I'm exaggerating), but a whole lotta patience to tough it out through the rough patches, especially in consciously choosing to avoid the cry-it-out approach. I know that is how I want to parent Zayden, but it sure does test your patience and strength as a parent to see it through. I have to remind myself that he's just a baby and shoot--if I were in any kind of discomfort and was ignored, that would not make me happy either! Pat on the back to you Dave =)

checkin out his lil feet!
sittin up all by himself!
We bought him a Baby Einstein entertainer since he's able to somewhat hold his head up and sit up by himself (with support) that has the pretty cool toys that to stimulate his development. Plus his leg muscles are getting stronger that he'll try standing when we're holding him in a standing position. I hope he likes it! Stay tuned...
